About the position

You will be responsible for helping us surface and evaluate the data that Smithy collects and correlate what we know with the target organisation’s internal structure. You will be involved in the entire product development life cycle including design, development, deployment and maintenance of new and existing features. You’ll work closely with the rest of the team to ensure system consistency and to create a great user experience. Ultimately, you’ll be the driving force behind all back-end activities related to data evaluation.

About you

We are looking for someone with the ability to grow fast, a lifelong learner who wants to develop their skills. If you can learn fast, do not worry if you don’t fit all of these:

  1. You are an expert with at least one programming language preferably Python but also Go is acceptable.
  2. You are proficient with SQL.
  3. You have a good understanding of maths and/or statistics.
  4. You can make sense of unprocessed data in data lakes. You have a good understanding of how to ingest, process and analyse this data.
  5. You can present your data findings to stakeholders and help drive decision-making.
  6. You are analytical, self-motivated and good at time management.
  7. You have great communication and problem-solving skills.
  8. You are curious about new technologies, and you find ways to implement them in your work.
  9. You keep your knowledge up to date about technical innovations and industry news.
  10. You have great problem-solving skills, and you work well in a team.
  11. You are proactive and can oversee and drive projects forward.
  12. You are familiar with working with disparate data sources.

  15. [Optional] You know how to write GitHub Actions.

We work as a team

We work in-office 4 days a week. Try to eliminate silos and learn from each other as much as possible. We communicate a lot and try to maintain a balance between verbal communication, working puns into RFCs and deep work.

Step 1
30’ coffee or chat so we can introduce each other and see if our expectations align.

Step 2 You’ll have to complete a 2h take home challenge on a real world problem involving leveraging different vulnerability databases to enrich our vulnerability reports.

Step 3
Onsite interview where we’ll talk about your challenge and ask some followup question.

Then we’ll have a tailored ETL systems design interview and a short cultural interview with the team.
